| | Hi Cruisers and Happy New Year to you, let's hope it's a good one for the cruise industry. It will be interesting to see how 2008 pans out with the USA ready to admit it's in recession; I think it's been there a while anyway. Our dollar is at 30 year highs against the Pound today and on the way back up against the USD... that can only be good for us cruisers! In saying that, futures traders are betting a barrel of oil will cost $200.00 USD by year end, it will equate to about $2.00 a litre for us and imagine the fuel surcharges from the air and cruise lines!
The Australian cruise season got into full swing yesterday with the arrival of Sapphire Princess, Sun Princess and Nautica and that was just one day. It's going to be a great season and stay tuned for any last minute deals.
Don't forget the two Queens will be here next month and we have a limited number of twin bunk cabins on our 3 night charter, you only sleep there anyway, it just means you need additional wine or beer to sleep! Come and join us, details are below.
