Hi Cruisers,
It's a big weekend ahead with the arrival of Queen Victoria Saturday morning and the passing of the Queens Sunday evening. We'll be on the water to see the event first hand along with our guests on Captain Cook Explorer. If you're out on the water and see us, give us a shout! We'll have the photos in next weeks newsletter. Don't forget the QM2 50% off sectors for 2009, it's a great opportunity to get on board this great ship. I was in Melbourne this week and finally got to see what summer looked like! 34 degrees, clear blue sky, it was a great feeling as Sydney has turned into the UK! I know we need the rain and Melbourne is dry, but it was nice to see the sun.
Star Cruises have released additional sailings aboard SuperStar Virgo for August this year. The prices include the Star Cruises early bird rates. SuperStar Virgo will be departing from Hong Kong on 2, 3 and 5 night itineraries. We have included one night pre and one night post cruise at the Empire Hotel Kowloon and return airfares with Virgin Atlantic. Prices start from $1349 for our 4 night package. See our specials below for the additional sailings dates.
Oceania has announced that their 2009 Europe sailings will be released in a few weeks time. We have spoken to them and they are not ready to release the itineraries yet, however if you are interested they did tell us that they will be the same as this years. That's all they're giving away, so there might be something more exciting. Who knows?! As soon as we know more and when we do receive the itineraries, we will let you all know and make sure they are up on our website.
We would like to welcome a new cruise line on to our website, called Ponant Cruises. There are three ships in the fleet,
Le Ponant meaning the West,
Le Levant meaning the Rising and
Le Diamant meaning the Diamond.
In May 1991, Le Ponant was delivered; a three-masts sailing ship of 32 cabins. In November 1998, Le Levant was introduced into the fleet and is the upscale yacht of the fleet, making her 100 metres long with 45 outside cabins. In 2004, the company acquired Le Diamant, now their biggest ship in the fleet, a 124 metre long steamer with 113 outside cabins and perfectly equipped to reach the polar destinations. Today, Le Ponant is ranked #1 in the French-flag cruise lines.
They have a unique range of itineraries for someone who is looking for something different but just can't work out what to do. Visiting places like Madagascar, Seychelles, India, Martinique, Cuba, and Antarctica just to name a few. We have 20 itineraries available for their Winter Season (2008/2009) and have some of them listed below in our specials. Or you can view them all on our website, just
