397: This week's great cruise deals from ecruising.travel

Issue 397 | 29 May 2008

Hi Cruisers,

Philippa and I were in WA and NT last week meeting our ground and air operators for our Private Orion Charter next year. The weather there at this time of the year is just a dream. 32 degrees, no humidity and cool at night, it just doesn't get any better than that. All is well and organized for next year so if you're already booked on this trip, you are going to be in for a real treat. If you're not, we only have 24 suites left and we'd love you to join us. While we were in Darwin, even one of the tour operators booked on, it must be good! Cable Beach Resort Broome, which is the start of the journey, has just celebrated their 20th year and completed a full renovation of the suites and property. It really is a supurb place. I've had people say to me there is nothing to do in Broome, but I don't think they've looked too far. We have lots of fun and relaxing things for you to do before we set sail on a 10 night cruise on Orion. You may have read the Orion has been sold to a private equity firm last week and that is correct. Sarina Bratton will still have a share holding and stay on as Managing Director. The plan is to grow the company into a multi ship organisation.

From Broome we headed to Kununurra, which is the home of the biggest Boab trees I've ever seen! It's also where you'll take scenic flights to the Bungle Bungles, Ord river scheme and The Argyle Diamond mine, to name a few. Other than that, there's not much there! We then flew to Bamurru Plains, a luxury wilderness camp on the Mary River flood plains West of Darwin. Truly an amazing place, full of wildlife and a place to escape the rat race for a few days. We are offering this as a three night post cruise option next year. Spacious and cool, each of the nine safari bungalows has an ensuite bathroom and a deck overlooking the flood plains frequented by a myriad of bird and animal life. It's all inclusive, as well as unlimited beverages and land tours. The guides are first class and join you for dinner at night as well. So if you've always wanted to do the Kimberleys and see this part of the world, come and join us. We have a great group of people coming so far and we'd love to have a few more of you too! Call me on 1300 369 848 to discuss the trip or you can view the inclusions and itinerary online here.

In conjunction with APT
, we have implemented an online search for all of the APT cruise product range with all pricing current and updated daily by APT. When you look at the pricing table for APT products you will notice that we now give you an up to date availability of each cabin category. This will come in handy for when you go to make a booking!

Featured in each product are the main highlights of the cruise – things like seeing the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an or Freedom of Choice touring options (at no extra cost) in some European countries. We have also included the other highlights of the cruise, like how many meals are provided or your shore excursions that are included in the price.

APT visit Asia, Australia, Egypt, Europe, New Zealand and South America – so to begin your APT experience, click here.

New this week is a great 20 night Asian package. You may remember the packages we had last year with the Banyan Tree Bintan out of Singapore? Well, Banyan Tree have built a new property in Sanya, the Southern most tip of Hainan Island, China's second largest island and sharing the same latitude as Hawaii. The resort looks nothing short of amazing and to celebrate the opening, we are giving you the opportunity to spend three nights at the resort at a price that's so hot we cannot tell you how much it is! So, we've included it into our Hong Kong fly/cruise package on Costa Classica in May next year. The package includes return Qantas airfares to Hong Kong, return Dragon Air flights to Sanya, 3 nights at the Banyan Tree Sanya in a Pool Villa, 15 nights on Costa Classica, port/govt taxes, onboard gratuities, and 2 nights in Hong Kong at the Empire hotel including late check out. You can have one night pre and one post if you like, all this from an amazing $4299! There are limited spaces on this trip so get in early, it's a great deal. Click here for details
