Hi Cruisers,
Back from a great break and ready to give you some great cruise deals. I think Jeremy and his team did a good job in my absence.
We did spend a short time in the USA and wanted to let you know how we experienced their new Visa program. We completed the application online as requested before we departed and printed out the confirmation to take with us. When we checked in at the airline counter, they had no record of us completing and did not seem to be worried. Much to our surprise, on the plane before arrival into the USA, they gave us the same forms to complete and hand into Customs when we arrived. The customs man just looked at our passports, took our photo and scanned both hands and that was it. Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right is doing although, for the first time we did not get treated like criminals and were not subjected to the puffer box! We were through Customs and immigration in no time which was a pleasant relief.
There seems to be a lot of hope riding on President Obama and most people we spoke with were happy for a change in leaders, they figured he couldn't do any worse!
Big news here is the NSW State government has announced White Bay will replace Wharf 8 for Sydney's next cruise terminal and will double as an event location. It will be good when it's finished as P & O plan to have parking there so you can drive from the country, park and cruise! This is great for the ships that can get under the bridge however, we still need a facility for the bigger ships, but don't hold your breath for that.
