Princess and P&O Specials

P&O & PRINCESS SPECIALS

Hi Cruisers,

This week we thought we'd do something a little different and not only let you know about all of the brand new specials we have, but also update you on all the cruise news from last week's Partnership Summit with P&O and Princess Cruises that we attended.

So what's new for Princess? Last week Brett mentioned the "Ultimate Tour" on both Sun and Dawn Princess that will take you to areas of the ship which are inaccessible to passengers and the "Movies Under the Stars". "Movies Under the Stars" will be introduced on Dawn Princess and 2009 and Sun Princess in 2010. You will be able to enjoy current hit movies outside on comfortable lounge chairs with padded cushions and blankets. Popcorn, cocktails and nibbles will enhance the viewing experience. During the day, the movie screen will serve as a backdrop to the poolside action and show family-friendly classic movies and concert footage from some of your favourite artists.

Also new to both Sun and Dawn Princess will be The Sanctuary. The Sanctuary will offer a relaxing alternative to the outdoor activities available elsewhere on the ships. Solitude seekers will be able to escape completely to this plush, outdoor, spa-inspired setting with signature beverages, light meals, massages and spa services from the Lotus Spa, attentive service from Serenity Stewards and relaxing personal entertainment. The Sanctuary will also feature outdoor private cabanas and plush outdoor furniture. There will be a flat fee of $10 per person for each period that they spend in The Sanctuary. A period is either AM (8am-12.30pm) or PM (1pm-5pm).

What's new at P&O? The big news is that P&O will be doubling their fleet over the next 2 years with the arrival of 2 new ships. The first ship, to be named Pacific Jewel, will begin sailing year round from Brisbane in December 2009. As soon as we have rates for these departures we will let you know. The second ship, yet to be named, will arrive in late 2010 and will sail from Auckland and possibly Sydney. From December 2009, Fremantle will become the new home port for Pacific Sun.

Pacific Sun had a refurbishment when she was recently in dry dock. Features of this refurb include the new adults-only Oasis Retreat, a new coffee shop called the Outback Bar and a refurbishment of the ship's library which enables it to transform into an elegant Steakhouse at night offering an intimate dining experience.

"Suite Dreams" has been introduced to the P&O fleet. Suite guests will start their voyage with priority check-in and preferential boarding. On formal nights, suite guests will have pre-diner canapes served in their suite or mini-suite. Suite guests will also receive an invitation to an exclusive cocktail party with the ship's senior officers, offered the option of having hot breakfasts and afternoon tea served in your stateroom each day as well as preferred reservation service for the ships' specialty restaurants, spa treatments and shore tours.

Mobile phone and wireless internet connection is now available. Mobile phone access will be available throughout staterooms and public areas on both of P&O's ships. Show lounges will have no mobile signal and passengers will be asked to follow phone etiquette when in theatres, dining rooms and spa areas. Wireless 24-hour internet access will be available in the atrium of both ships. Charges for this service will be billed to your onboard account.

Local cuisine is also to be introduced on Pacific Dawn & Sun including fresher, locally grown ingredients, Australian and New Zealand wines and specialist coffee ambassadors will now be on all cruises.
