What a weekend in Sydney. First of all, for those of you that joined us on the charter, Len is OK! He was released from hospitial that night after a full check up. I think the water Police, Ambulance officers and Captain Cook staff did a sterling job not to mention the passengers that helped stabilise him. Without you two ladies, it may have been a different story, so thank you.
You may be interested to hear that we have had complaints about the food and documentation, can you believe it! There is some good feedback in this week's letters below. We're getting that much feedback each week we are just including them all otherwise they are going to pile up and no one will ever read them. There are some photos below of Queen Victoria and QE2. If you were with us and saw QV come through the heads in darkness (what a sight that was) you will have noticed one of the letters was out on the ship sign, see the photos below to see what I mean, they had fixed it by the time she left! Philippa, myself and a couple of the staff were lucky enough to go on board QV for an inspection and lunch. It's a beautiful ship, well appointed and very English. Much smaller than QM2 however, I could spend two weeks on board her! The photo at the top of the newsletter was taken by yours truly before we boarded, I thought you'd like it. Our Captain on Captain Cook thought there were more boats on the harbour than Australia Day, Sydneysiders really turned out to see the passing of the Queens.

The Aussie dollar reached a 24 year high this morning on the back of rising commodity prices and a weak US economy. We might even see gold go through the $1000.00 an ounce next week! BTW, I've had complaints about me mentioning this sort of data and news. For those of you that don't like it, you know the option. It's a free country and if I want to write about something I think is relevant to the cruise industry and the Aussie dollar is, then I'll write it, but don't send me emails complaining about it.

Ecruising exclusive – Rhapsody of the Seas Cruise tour!
Departing 24 February 2009, you will depart Sydney onboard Rhapsody of the Seas to cruise your way to Perth visiting the top end of Australia and also Papua New Guinea.
